Plot Summary:

Korono Kei is an arrogant high school freshman, whose thoughts are constantly occupied by that of a girl. One day, on his way home, Kei sees a guy fall off a train platform. He didn’t care about this other person and, at first, just watched the scene in amusement. However, Kato Masaku, who was a classmate of Kei in his elementary school days, suddenly gets off the platform to help the man. Upon being asked for help, Kei reluctantly does so. However, while doing this, a train comes. Normally they would have been killed by the train, but they were transferred into a room of a condominium in the blink of an eye. There, they find a black sphere and people who are supposed to be dead, like Kei. They are unable to get out of the room, nor even touch the walls. What is the room? What is this ball?

In the middle of all this, a naked girl named Kishimoto Kei is transferred into the room. Then, from the sphere, a radio exercise song begins to play. It’s lyrics:”Your old lives are gone and your new lives belong to me.” It didn’t explain anything other than that, but give them weapons and ordered them to hunt aliens.

They couldn’t cry for help and, gradually, Kei and Kato realize that they are in a real battle and not a game or a TV-program. Regardless of their own wishes, they are involved in this mysterious fight against aliens.

What will happen to them? What is this mysterious sphere, “Gantz”?
Gantz has the keys to unlocking all mysteries…

Plot Summary:

The first episode opens with the mysterious suicide of a high-school girl, Chisa Yomoda. Chisa-chan was a classmate of Lain Iwakura, a quiet, 14-year-old high-school girl. One of the other girls in the class has been receiving e-mail messages from Chisa-chan, and Lain discovers she also has mail from Chisa-chan. In the mail she explains to Lain that she just abandoned her flesh. She assures lain that she still is alive in the ‘wired’ world. After getting a new ‘navi’ and adding a ‘psyche’ circuit, Lain spends more and more time in the wired. It seems that Lain has at least 2 personalities, and Lain’s first personality is changing even now. Who is lain? Who are the ‘knights’? Can the wired influence the real world with a prophecy? Is the real world nothing but a hologram of the information in the wired?

Plot Summary:

Because of the grand sinking, there appeared a big “hole” near the apartment complex in Machida. Therewith, 185 families, almost all the inhabitants there, were killed miserably. The Police couldn’t find any clue of this ferocious mass murder. However, an old man and a disgusting relic from the Middle Age called “Durj Box” were related to this case.

5 years have passed since then. It is near future. Tokyo has two faces; the one is a prospered megalopolise, the other one is a criminal city. Shindo Ranmaru, one of the survivors of the tragedy occurred in Machida, has become a policeman to solve the mass murder case. One day, he is informed that a drug habitue is rampaging around Shibuya. However, what he sees there is not so easy. The monsters that apparently don’t look like human are assaulting people. It is the members of Tokko, or the Special Mobile Squad Public Branch, including Rokujo Sakura, that save helpless policemen. To be surprised, they fight against monsters not with guns or nightsticks, but with swords.

Then, Shindo learns the surprising fact that Japan will be demolished within two years, and he has to face the tragedic fate to fight against monsters that come from the “hole”.
